Southshore Community Contributes to New Technology

Due to the rapid growth at St. Joseph’s Hospital-South, the Emergency Department, team, and technology have been expanded to better treat the community. The hospital is investing $1.7 million into a Siemens Dual Source CT scanner – one of the few in the state of Florida – to be used within the emergency room. And, donors in the Southshore community are pitching in their support.  

As one of the newest technologies in the industry, the Siemens Dual Source CT (computed tomography) scanner has intelligent automation that provides a highly accurate diagnosis that is safe and standardized. Team members can utilize this new CT scanner to detect stroke, internal injuries from trauma, and evaluate respiratory illnesses with precision outcomes.
