A hospital stay can create anxiety both for patients and their loved ones; but thanks to generous $85,000 grant funded by the Women’s Hospital Auxiliary, a beautiful Serenity Garden was renovated to help patients, visitors, and team members find tranquility during difficult times. On August 5, 2019, Auxiliary and team members participated in the blessing of this new and serene space, during which Sara Naumowich, president of St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, remarked on the beauty of the garden and thanked the Auxiliary for the continued efforts in supporting St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. The space was completely overhauled with new plumbing, electrical, and lighting, and the garden contains a beautiful new water fountain, a river of blue mosaic tile, umbrellas, and lush landscaping for enhanced opportunities for relaxation and social gathering.
“I want to thank the team members,” said Women’s Hospital Auxiliary president Patti Balchon. “Were it not for your support of our fundraising sales, we would not be able to do so many things for you, the hospital and the patients.”
