Beautiful possibilities were unlocked for St. Joe’s kids at our recent Heroes Ball benefiting the St. Joseph’s Children’s Chronic Complex Clinic. Nearly 700 guests stepped through the door into a secret garden to honor Daniel J. Plasencia, MD, FAAP, the founder of the Clinic and medical director of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital as our Community Hero. It was announced during the celebration that the Clinic would be named for Dr. Plasencia in recognition of his devotion to children in our community. Thank you to our generous sponsors and guests who helped us to raise a record-breaking $450,000. Not only did we celebrate the accomplishments of Dr. Plasencia and his dedicated team, but also cultivated a lasting impression of the innovative care at the Chronic Complex Clinic. Special thanks to Hinks and Elaine Shimberg and Kasey Shimberg Kelly, our Heroes Ball Chairs, and Honorary Chair Tino Martinez.
