St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Transport Services were developed more than 20 years ago to provide 24-hour transport and consultation services to physicians and hospitals throughout the West-Central Florida region to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Local, state and international transportation and consultation services include around the clock access to board-certified pediatric intensivists and pediatric cardiovascular surgeons. Our wide variety of subspecialists on staff allows us to accept complex cases. These can include neurological, medical, and surgical patients, cardiac medical and surgical cases, general surgical cases, complex medical cases and trauma. The team has more than quadrupled its transports in the last three years. Due to our rapid growth, the team is in need of an additional ambulance, basically a mobile intensive care unit, equipped with specific pediatric equipment to keep children safe during transport. Community support is needed to continue providing prompt, quality emergency medical care to children. Proceeds from the Heroes Ball will help to purchase a new ambulance with the most state-of-the-art equipment, and capable of transporting two patients at a time.
